Fat — Reshape
Unwanted fat beneath the chin can obscure the natural angle between the chin and neck and make the jawline appear softer or heavier.
And importantly, submental ( the area right under the chin) fullness isn’t necessarily a weight problem.
Genetics and anatomy can play an important role.
When appropriate, HD Liposuction allows Dr. Iannitelli to remove unwanted fat and sculpt the area beneath the chin and along the jawline.
But removing fat is only one part of the equation.
Because once unwanted volume is removed, we have to ask another question:
What will the skin do?
Skin — Tighten
If the skin has lost elasticity, removing fat alone may not provide the degree of tightening or definition the patient wants.
This is where Renuvion® becomes a primary component of NewNeck™.
Renuvion combines helium plasma with radiofrequency energy and is used beneath the skin. Its FDA-cleared indication specifically includes improving the appearance of lax skin in the neck and submental region.
And there is clinical evidence behind that indication.
In a prospective, multicenter clinical study of Renuvion treatment in the neck and submental region, 82.5% of patients demonstrated improvement at 180 days when assessed by independent blinded photographic reviewers. Patients themselves rated 85.5% as improved, while investigators rated 87.1% as improved.
The study also found evidence of continued improvement between 90 and 180 days, consistent with ongoing healing and tissue remodeling.
That’s an important distinction:

What About a Traditional Neck Lift?
NewNeck™ is not a traditional excisional neck lift.
Traditional neck-lift surgery remains an important option for patients with substantial excess skin or anatomical changes requiring surgical excision or repositioning.
NewNeck™ occupies a different space—between noninvasive treatments and traditional excisional surgery. Plus the NewNeck™ and NewNeck™ Plus procedures require NO general anesthesia or cutting of the skin.
Some patients will be excellent NewNeck™ candidates.
Others won’t be.

What About Recovery?
NewNeck™ is minimally invasive, but minimally invasive does not mean that nothing happened beneath the skin.
Swelling, bruising, tenderness, temporary numbness, firmness and a feeling of tightness can occur as the area heals. Compression and specific postoperative instructions will also be part of your recovery plan.
Your individual recovery depends upon the procedures included in your NewNeck™ treatment, and Dr. Iannitelli will explain what you should realistically expect before you make your decision.
Is Renuvion® Safe?
Renuvion’s APR Handpiece is FDA-cleared for subcutaneous dermatological and aesthetic procedures to improve the appearance of lax skin in the neck and submental region.
In the pivotal prospective study, the primary safety endpoint was met: 96.9% of patients experienced no pain through moderate pain through Day 7, and no serious adverse events related to the study device or procedure were reported.
However, no medical procedure is risk-free.
Potential risks and expected effects vary according to the procedures performed and can include swelling, bruising, discomfort, sensory changes, firmness, contour irregularity, infection, scarring, thermal injury and other complications.

What if I've never had a strong jawline?

For some patients, genetics have always created a softer jawline or fuller area beneath the chin. NewNeck™ can help create better definition within the limits of your natural anatomy.
Can NewNeck™ help after weight loss?
Potentially. Significant weight loss can leave lax skin throughout the lower face and neck. Dr. Iannitelli evaluates the amount and quality of remaining skin to determine whether NewNeck™ or a traditional surgical approach would be more appropriate.
Is NewNeck™ just Renuvion?
