Microneedling and PRP

Before and After PRP

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) at Advanced Image Med Spa Glendale, Arizona

As we age our skin’s ability to produce collagen and elastin, heal and regenerate decreases. For patients who wish to revitalize and rejuvenate the skin, stimulate hair regrowth, increase sexual performance and many other regenerative processes PRP can be the key. Top rated Cosmetic Surgeon and Regenerative Medicine specialist, Dr. Jennessa Iannitelli  utilizes PRP topically and injected into tissues to obtain safe and dramatic results for her patients.

What is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)?

The use of PRP has proliferated in recent years. You probably heard about PRP initially in sports medicine where the doctor’s used it for injured professional and amateur athletes who were eager to recover better, faster, and return to their sport. We have seen the same impressive results in aesthetics to increase collagen and regenerate damaged tissue.

PRP is made by placing a sample of a patient’s own blood in a special FDA approved kit which is centrifuged to concentrate the platelets, which are cells rich in growth factors. The PRP is then injected or micro-needled back into the patient’s area of concern to stimulate tissue growth and healing. PRP does not involve any drugs or chemicals. PRP is completely natural and uses the patient’s own blood platelets to enhance the body’s biological healing process. PRP is safe and has shown good results for many conditions.  It can also be combined with other biological products like amniotic fluid to synergize results.

What does platelet-rich plasma treat?

Platelet-rich plasma therapy can help:

  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improve acne and other types of scarring
  • Stimulate collagen growth
  • Regenerate hair growth
  • Improve retention of fat in transfers to breasts and buttock
  • Increase sexual stimulation and reduce incontinence for women and help with erectile disfunction in men

Platelet-rich plasma therapy can complement other rejuvenating treatments and is often used in conjunction with other procedures. PRP treatments are safe, effective, and do not require any meaningful downtime.

How do platelet-rich plasma therapies work?

Dr. Iannitelli or one of our licensed estheticians will introduce the platelet-rich plasma into the area being treated depending on the treatment type. The PRP contains a high concentration of growth factors, which encourage tissue regeneration and healing. The growth factors released from the PRP support and promote:

  • Tissue repair
  • Epithelial cell growth (the cells that line the outer layer of the skin, or epidermis)
  • Collagen-building
  • Regeneration of the skin and other tissues

Studies have found that success varies depending on the preparation method, protocols, and concentration of the PRP kits. Dr. Iannitelli uses only the highest quality PRP kits and has been trained by innovators in the field to maximize the effectiveness of your procedure.  We look forward to helping you pick the best procedure for your concerns during a complimentary consultation.
