Laser vein treatment works by damaging the vein with heat causing scar tissue to form. This scar tissue collapses the vein causing it to lose its source of blood and die. Laser vein treatment is non-invasive and done on the outside of your skin. Typically more than one laser session is needed and they are scheduled every 6 to 12 weeks. The vein may appear temporarily darker after the treatment. Excessive heat, exercise, and alcohol should be avoided for 24-48 hours after treatment.
